A Lesson in Public Relations

Talking to a physicist friend the other day, I learned that the scientists at at CERN say that the reason the Large Hadron Collider did not function as it was expected to when it was first switched on was that a particle had travelled back in time.

Given that they also fire their equipment through tunnels at high speed and expect it to come out the other end approximately 40 minutes earlier than it went in, it would appear the Eurostar PR department could have come up with a better excuse than “the wrong kind of snow.”
